Installing SharePoint 2013 Foundation on Windows Server 2012 (And how to install .Net 3.5 :D )

Olá pessoal! Este post estará em Inglês, pois é destinados a profissionais de TI do mundo todo. Caso você precise, utilize algum serviço tradutor da web, como o Bing por exemplo... (tem o da concorrente também, mas sabe como é.. rsrs)

 

Clarification: I will not enter details of SQL setup for SharePoint 2013 in this post. But, i used SQL  2012 SP1 as database server, in a named instance, and selected all the features, since its just for testing purposes.

Recently I was trying to install SharePoint 2013 Foundation RTM on my Windows 2012 RTM lab. However, i bumped into an issue that didnt happen on the Release Preview versions of both softwares.

When installing the Prerequisites, it was stopping with an error to configure IIS role.

Strange enough, .Net Framework 4.5 was installed as per deafult on the Win 2012 setup, computer was correctly domain joined as all other features correctly setup. Analyzing the logs i also didn't find anything relevant, but this:

Then i had an idea.. If Asp.Net 4.0 is presenting problems, why not try to install via .Net 3.5? Awesome!

HOWEVER (again) there is a trick to install .Net 3.5 on Windows 2012, once it is not copied by default to the "Sources" folder, so you can't simply install it from "Add and Remove Roles and Features". I cannot tell if it is a bug or not, but its simple to workaround.

You must either use the installation media from DVD network or share.  Having your Windows Team copy just the Sources\Sxs directory to a location you can access is also supported.  If your Windows team does not want to give you access to the entire installation media, having just the sxs directory is a good compromise.

Alternatively if you would like to script the install you have two choices.

1. Powershell (As Admin)
Install-WindowsFeature Net-Framework-Core -source \\network\share\sxs (in my case D:\sources\sxs)












2. Old Fashion Command Line (As Admin)
DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:d:\sources\sxs

Using Powershell you can verify the install by running Get-WindowsFeature from within PS, you will notice something similar to this;

[X] .NET Framework 3.5 Features NET-Framework-Features   Installed
[X] .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)  NET-Framework-Core Installed

 Once its done, simply run SharePoint Foundation 2013 Prerequisites installation again, and once its concluded, is time to start the SharePoint installation itself.

Choose the installation as COMPLETE and click the Install Now button.

Wait for a few minutes for the installation to be completed.

Once the installation is completed you will be launched with the Products Configuration Wizard.

Specify your database name and credentials in the following page:

NOTE: If you are configuring in another instance on your SQL server, please on Database Server type the following: SERVER\INSTANCE

NOTE2: It is recomended that you leave the database name as default (SharePoint_Config). Some applications use this name as default, and if you change will present a lot of problems. Then i am sure you will lose a lot of hair until you realize you changed the Database Name.



Enter the Farm Security Phrase of your own:

NOTE: For production environment, PLEASE TAKE A NOTE of this passphrase. I had cases where Customer forgot to write it down and lost ENTIRE ENVIRONMENTS because they did not remember the passphrase. Put in a vault or something.


Wait for the configuration activities to be completed. This should take around 10 minutes.

Once the Configuration is done you will get the following message. The textboxes shows your appropriate machine parameters.

 And Voilá!! It is done!

Erro 0x80070020 ao instalar Atualizações do Windows

Problema 

Erro 0x80070020 ocorre ao instalar atualizações para o Windows  

Algumas vezes, arquivos de atualização corrompidos impedem a instalação correta de atualizações do sistema operacional, retornando o erro acima. A Microsoft disponibiliza alguns passos para reparar este comportamento - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883825 , mas as vezes é necessário ir mais a fundo:

  

 

Solução 

  

Remover  os arquivos corrompidos da KB que apresentou a falha da pasta %windir%\servicing\packages. Para tanto, os seguintes passos deverão ser seguidos; 

• Abrir a pasta %windir%\servicing\packages 
• Copiar todos os arquivos referentes à KB que apresentou a falha para uma pasta de backup 
• Iniciar o prompt de comando com privilégios administrativos 
• Digitar os seguintes comandos para tornar o usuário ativo o proprietário da pasta 
  • takeown /F c:\Windows\Servicing\Packages /D y /R  
  • cacls c:\Windows\Servicing\Packages /E /T /C /G "UserName":F 
  • OBS: o UserName deve ser substituido por um usuário com privilégios administrativos locais 
• Após certificar-se que o backup foi efetuado, deletar todos os arquivos relacionados à KB desejada da pasta %windir%\servicing\packages 
• Instalar a KB novamente.

Windows 7 - Quando uma unidade de DVD lê somente CD

Pode ter certeza que alguém já passou por isso.

Sabe aquela sua sobrinha chata, que chega na sua casa louca para gravar o DVD pirata da série Crepúsculo (ai vampiro, vampiro, vampiro, vampiro... vampiro?), ai ele não reconhece de jeito nenhum os DVDs?

Voce tirou do plástico umas nove mídias novinhas pensando que era algum pau, mas ai você coloca uma mídia de CD e funciona! Não aguentando mais sua sobrinha lhe torrando as paciências, voce chuta o computador, grita com a menina e seu cunhado manda você praquele lugar. Antes de pensar que está ficando maluco, o que pode estar com problemas é o seu Windows.


Se voce tem absoluta certeza que não é problema da sua unidade de DVD, você pode tentar os seguintes passos abaixo (em inglês, mas tenho certeza que você consegue se virar):

1) click the start menu
2) click on "run"
3) type "regedit" and click ok
4) go to string key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
5) delete "upper filters" and "lower filters in the right side window.
6) right click my computer in the start menu.
7) click properties
8) go to the hardware tab
9) click device manager
10) expand the dvd/cdrom drives
11) right click the dvd rom and click uninstall
12) restart computer

Se realmente não funcionar, tente gravar ou ler um DVD de outro equipamento para ter certeza que não é sua unidade.

The Scripting Fiad - Apagando Temporários do Outlook e Temporary Internet Files

Olá Rapaziada! Atendendo aos milhões de pedidos (...) dos fãs do meu super hiper blog, vai aqui um script que apaga os temporários dos arquivos .PST do Outlook e também todos os Temporary Internet Files.

No meu caso tive que desenvolver este script pois como eu uso perfil móvel, alguns perfis estavam com 5 ou até 8 Giga. Quando fui ver tinha uns 10 arquivos .TMP com o tamanho dao arquivo de dados do Outlook. Não sei porque ele fez isso, mas tudo indica que é quando dava algum problema, ele passava o Reparador de pasta do outlook e criava esses temporários.

Coloquei tanto na inicialização como no encerramento do Windows, e nunca mais tive esse problema.
